In 2024, the University of Michigan Credit Union teamed up with Border 2 Border Trail during the holiday season to provide an opportunity for UMCU members to show their local pride by shopping and dining for a good cause. Our charity for 2025 will be announced soon.
From November 1 through December 31, 2024 every time our members made a purchase with their UMCU Visa® Platinum Optimum or Visa® Cash Rewards credit card at a local participating store, restaurant, or business, UMCU matched one percent of the total sales, (up to a grand total of $7,000) and donated it to the B2B Trail!*

As an added bonus in 2024, UMCU also gave away $1,000 to seven lucky members who made a purchase with their card at participating businesses during the campaign period. All they had to do was shop locally at one of the participating businesses, and they were automatically entered for a chance to win!*

For each qualifying transaction, the University of Michigan Credit Union applied 1% to the total sale, and presented the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative with a one-time payment of the sum of those qualifying transactions, up to a total amount of $7,000, after the promotional period expired. Additionally, each qualifying transaction automatically entered the credit card holder into a giveaway to win a grand prize of $1,000. (7 grand prize winners total) No purchase necessary to enter.
