UMCU Youth Scholarship Program

For individuals interested in attending college or trade school, the UMCU Youth Scholarship Program helps those dreams become a reality. Eligible high school seniors planning to attend college or trade school in the Fall may apply for a chance to be awarded a scholarship up to $1,000. Applications from qualified individuals will be accepted beginning on February 1, 2027 through March 31, 2027. For more information applicants are encouraged to read the details from our 2026 program below.

Meet our Financial Education Manager, Mark Munzenberger!

Mark Munzenberger is the Financial Education Manager at University of Michigan Credit Union (UMCU). Mark has been working in financial services since 2003 and provides both financial education workshops and individual financial counseling for thousands of students and adults each year. UMCU's diverse financial wellness programs have been recognized with multiple CUNA awards, and in 2021, Mark was named the Michigan Credit Union Foundation's Educator of the Year.

Mark is an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) through the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education, which is a national nonprofit organization and the nationally recognized leader in financial counseling, coaching and education. Mark also serves on the AFCPE Government Relations Task Force.
