Play It Forward | 3rd Annual Instrument Drive

UMCU and the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra are collecting musical instruments for local students in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Drop off your instrument at a participating UMCU or EMUCU branch from June 15 through July 17, 2026.

Give the Gift of Music

2nd annual play it forward instrument drive wrap upFor the third year, UMCU is proud to partner with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO) to keep music thriving in our local schools. Together we are supporting music education programs across Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, creating more opportunities for students to learn and grow.

Whether it is a violin sitting in a closet, a trumpet that has not been played in years, or a nearly new clarinet ready for a new owner, your donation puts an instrument in the hands of a student who needs it.

This year, the instrument drive launches alongside the opening of EMUCU Cross Street, our new standalone branch in Ypsilanti, located directly across from Eastern Michigan University's campus at 611 Cross Street. We are proud to continue to expand the drive to Ypsilanti.
