Money Market Savings
If you're looking for easy access to your money with a higher interest rate, then the Money Market Savings may be the right account for you. Simply maintain a $2,000* daily balance and you'll earn interest based upon the balance that you keep in your account. In addition to earning interest monthly, the Money Market Savings can also be used as a form of overdraft protection** on your other UMCU account(s).
Account Balance Tiers

Interest is paid monthly. Third-party transfers are limited to 6 per month in accordance with Regulation D requirements..
*You will receive a $5.00 monthly maintenance fee if the $500 daily balance is not maintained.
**Funds for an overdraft will be automatically transferred from the member’s UMCU savings, Visa, or Line-of-Credit for $2.00 per transaction. If the member does not have funds available to cover an overdraft, he/she will be charged a NSF of $30.00 each time a check or preauthorized withdrawal is presented. The member has 30 days to bring account current. If a member is already negative $500 or if they don't qualify for courtesy pay, UMCU will not cover the overdraft.
